Sleeping bag rice pudding #recipe


Ingredients:
1 cp. Instant rice
2 Gallon double zip zipper bags
3/4 cp. water
1Tbs. Cinnamon
1/8 cp. Sugar
Nuts
Raisins

Preparation:
Take instant rice in 2 heavy duty zip lock bags. Add slightly less than normal amount of boiling water, (it must be at a full boil), add some raisins, nuts or some cinnamon and sugar. Zip it up tight and place in a sleeping bag. The rice will cook in about 20 minutes.

Camp Omelette #recipe

Omelette in Bag

Ingredients:
1 gallon zipper bag
3 eggs
3 tbs milk
1/4 cp. cheese
3 tbs bacon bits
1/2 green pepper; diced
1/2 medium sized onion
1/4 cp. mushrooms

Preparation:
Use a good quality zipper bag. Break 1 to 3 eggs into the bag, add a tablespoon of milk per egg, add cheese, bacon bits, peppers, onions, mushrooms or whatever you like in an omelette to the bag. Close the bag tightly, mix all together and drop bag into a Dutch oven of boiling water (water should be at a full boil. It will take 3 to 8 minutes depending on how many bags are in the water. Can be thrown back into the water if you do not think the eggs are  done enough.

Venison Camp Hash
 
Ingredients:
4 c Shredded Hash Brown,Dried
1 lg Pot With A Lid
2 pk Onion Soup Mix
1 lg Spoon
1 1/2 lb Ground Venison
6 c Water
 
Preparation:
In aDutch oventop brown the meat in the bottom of the pan. Break up the meat as it cooks assuring that all the pink (raw) meat is cooked. Add the water and soup mix stirring to mix. Heat to boiling and simmer a few minutes. Add the dry potatoes and stir to mix. Cover theDutch ovenand move to the edge of the fire for about 10 minutes to allow the potatoes to swell up with the water.

Camping Corned Beef Hash #Recipe

Ingredients:
2 TBS cooking oil
1 lg. onion -- chopped
2 garlic cloves -- minced
4 lg. potatoes peeled and cubed
1 lb. corned beef
1 4 oz. cn. chopped green chilies
1 cn. whole kernel corn drained

Preparation:
In aDutch oven, heat oil.  Sauté onion and garlic until tender, add  potatoes.  Cook uncovered, at medium heat for 20 mins. stirring occasionally.  Add corned beef; cook and stir until potatoes are tender and well browned, about 10 mins. Stir in chilies and corn; cook until hot.

Camp Hash

Ingredients:

 1 4 oz. cn. chopped green chilies
1 cn. whole kernel corn drained

Preparation:
In a Dutch oven, heat oil.  Sauté onion and garlic until tender, and add  potatoes.  Cook uncovered, at medium heat for 20 mins. stirring occasionally.  Add sausage; cook and stir until potatoes are tender and well browned, about 10 mins. Stir in chilies and corn; cook until all the way hot.

Banana Bread anywhere #Recipe

Dutch Oven
Banana Bread

Ingredients:
2 eggs
1 1/4 c. mashed bananas (about 3)
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
1/2 c. melted shortening or margarine
2 c. flour
1/2 c. nuts
12-inch Dutch oven.

Preparation:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Mash bananas first, then add all other ingredients.  Bake 45 minutes to 1 hour.   (When on a campfire, put 10 coals on top of the Dutch oven and 8 coals on bottom.  This equals 350 degrees.)

Ingredients:

2 to 3 cucumbers

salt

Pepper

3 TBS. yogurt

dill

parsley


Preparation:
Thinly slice young cucumbers, place in bowl and add salt and pepper to taste. Add three Tablespoons of plain yogurt and some chopped dill. Garnish with sprigs of parsley after it has set an hour or more, serve. You can substitute sour cream for the yogurt.
















 

Loving the Burger Crumbs #recipe

Burger Crumbs
 
Ingredients:
 
2 pounds ground beef
 
1 cup soft bread crumbs
 
1/2 cup chopped onion
 
1 egg
 
Salt and pepper
 
Preparation:
Have ready 8 tomato slices and 8 hamburger buns. Combinemeat, bread crumbs, onion, egg, salt and pepper. Mix lightly. Place meatmixture on a cookie sheet (with an edge so it doesn't spill over). Press towithin 1 inch of edge of pan. Bake at 350 degrees F for 20 minutes. Drainexcess fat. Top with 8 cheese slices and tomato slices. Bake until cheesemelts.

Not your typical Mullet #recipe

Ingredients:
 
1 1/2 lb mullet filets
 
2 to 3 limes for juice
 
1/2 c butter
 
1 t salt
 
1/2 t pepper
 
Preparation:
 
Place filets in a flat pan; squeeze lime juice on top. Refrigerate 4 hours to tenderize. When ready to cook, place on an oiled grill over hot coals and brush with butter, season with salt and pepper. Baste frequently with butter as fish browns.
