Quick and easy DIY removal! That tie rod end will not come off! No matter which way I have approached it, all I am doing is messing up the boot but it will not pop up. There is something that I learned from an old Mechanic, you need to take a 3 to 5 pound sledge hammer and hit the steering knuckle a couple of times hard. This will make the tie rod end pop up and it does not damage the steering knuckle. This trick works so well that I do not use other tools to remove tie rod ends except for the trusty sledge hammer! |
