1. Egg Sinker: If you are trolling adjust the weight of sinker so that is just barely dragging on the bottom. If you are on the shore use enough weight to get it out to where you want to fish.
2. Glow bead: This bead has dual purpose it keeps the sinker from beating up your knot so you do not lose the fish when you get one. And it adds a little bit of attraction through color and sound.
3. Swivel: Another dual purpose link in this rig.The swivel works as a stop for the sinker and helps prevent line twist. If your
bait is doing the twist it is unnatural to the fish and they will not bite.
4. Red Size 6 Octopus Hook: The red hook adds more color(some say red is invisible in the water, while others say that it resembles blood. Either way I know it works). An octopus hook is a hook design that increases the chance that you get a hook into the fish.
I will use 6lb test leader because it is harder for the fish to see making your bait look more natural and not like it is being towed through the water with a cable. The leader is 6 to 10 feet long to adjust the depth that the bait runs. You can use leeches, minnows, or worms for bait it all depends on the day.
